Being Thankful

I am not going to wait until I see results or receive rewards; I am thankful right now.

I am not going to wait until I feel better or things look better; I am thankful right now.

I am not going to wait until people say they are sorry or until

I am not going to wait until the pain disappears; I am thankful right now.

I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves; I am thankful right now.

I am not going to wait until I get promoted at work or until I get the job regardless of my sexuality; I am thankful right now.

I am not going to wait until I understand every experience in my life that has caused me pain or grief; I am thankful right now.

I am not going to wait until the journey gets easier or the challenges are removed; I am thankful right now.

I am thankful because I am alive. I am thankful because I made it through the week’s difficulties. I am thankful because I was able to get around the obstacles in my path. I am thankful because through all the ugliness and hate, I can still see the beauty in the world.

Post 4th Celebrations

I hope you enjoyed your 4th of July as it truly is the most important holiday in the United States of America. Without the 4th of July, we very well may not be celebrating other holidays…at least not in the land of the free.

Always remember, just because the LGBT community doesn’t not share the same equality as other Americans, progress has been made, and we do owe gratitude and respect to the fact that even though we struggle to gain equality and inclusion, we have the right to do so.

GoodBye Angel

June 25th, 2009

Sorry to say that a true 70’s icon and part of American TV history lost her battle with cancer and passed away earlier today at the age of 62.

Farrah Fawcett was most widely known for her roll as Jill on “Charlie’s Angles”.

My thoughts go out to her family and friends. She will be missed.

Passion

What is your passion in life? What is it that keeps you growing? As time goes on, it’s easy to let your passions slide. It’s easy to forget our passions and not let them guide our lives. It’s OK if you passion changes, as people change. But, we need to keep passion in our lives. We need it to grow and learn. We need it to keep positive. If people would spend time on positive passions, there would be a huge reduction of negativity in the world. What’s your passion? Find it, embrace it, let it grow!

Success

Success can be defined in many ways as it often comes to fruition depending upon the various goals of different people. However, there are similarities. Success is not always achieved by knowledge, power and wisdom, but rather by the effort one puts into achieving success.

Four paths towards success are through aspiration, inspiration, sometimes desperation and many times perspiration.

Again, the more will and effort you put into achieving success, the more likely are to get there.

Adversity

Learning is Growing

The older I become, the more wise I become. However, part of that is realizing how much I really don’t know.

There is a great truth in the old cliche that “you learn something new everyday.” That is key to success. Being wise enough to know you still have a great deal to learn, no matter what your age, is in itself, wisdom.

I sincerely hope that I learn something new everyday…or hopefully many things, as I truly believe learning is growing, and as a plant, once we stop growing, the only thing left is to die.

Working Hard for Betterment

As I was in the gym, and working feverishly on an hour long cardio stint, I looked around and saw many people there, doing the same thing. I knew, as it was 5:30 in the morning, the reason we were there was for betterment.

Yes, I felt confident that everyone there, at that particular moment was there to work hard, in order to be better, both physically and mentally.

But then I stopped to wonder, how hard had I worked this week to make the world a better place? How much effort had any of us given to improve the very environments we live in?

So I embrace my new challenge for myself, and would ask you to join in. If we all dedicated, even one hour a week, at making the world better for all of us, I am willing to bet, it wouldn’t take long for everyone to reap the benefits of our efforts.
